My granddaughter (11) came to visit one week. She spotted our TV guide on the sofa and asked what it was. When I explained that it listed TV and radio programmes for the coming week, her jaw dropped open with surprise. When I explained that it had been doing this since before *I* was born, she was even more stunned.

And when I added that Yes, I did read it every week, and No, I rarely used the remote to find out what was on, we almost had to rush her to Emergency to get her heart going again.
